Backup / Restore Procedure.

Bibliotech Version 6 and 7

The Backup/Restore procedure rebuilds all your data tables and indexes and is required if you are getting indexing errors or Key Violation Errors

1. Shutdown all Workstations

The following must be completed on the Bibliotech Server:

2. Stop the database engine (White icon near clock)

3. In Windows Explorer, browse to the current FFLibrary directory. (see FAQ on
web to locate this directory)

4. Copy all files (*.*) to another directory (these will most likely have a *.ffd suffix)
also copy the \lists sub directory

5. Take note of the date and time on the computer (Bibliotech Server Clock)

6. Open Bibliotech Utilities Module and run a backup

7. Open Bibliotech Materials Module and fetch server log (see the File Menu)
Server log will be saved in C:\BtechFF\ServerLog.txt

8. Close the Materials Module

9. Open Serverlog.txt in Notepad

10. Scroll to the bottom and check any messages that have occured since the date
and time noted in Step 5. If there is any message relating to the backup other than below,
please call support on 9502 3056. If not then proceed with Step 11.

11. Open Bibliotech Utilities and Restore from the Backup created at Step 6

12. Check to ensure that problem has been resolved
